In early 1943 the reactions to the intensive anti-Bolshevik and anti-Semitic propaganda campaigns, including Katyn, are described. Broadcasters’ policy of continuity was echoed in the Easter schedules and at the time of the final defeat of Axis forces in North Africa. Attention is paid to the introduction of “round the clock” domestic broadcasting and the increasing use of tape-recording. New entertainment shows such as “Favourites from A to Z” and a new daily educational series “Listen and Remember” were added to the schedules. Goebbels continued his attempts to secure more control of Soldatensender Belgrad. Two revealing addresses by Hans Fritzsche are examined. The Christmas and New Year schedules after a year of constant setbacks are described, with particular attention being paid to the Ringsendung.
