This chapter discusses counterargumentation within the framework of dialectical interaction, focusing on the question-answer (QA) model and its limitations. The QA model emphasizes a structured exchange of questions and answers, often sidelining the role of counterargumentation. In contrast, the Argument Dialectics (AD) model promotes a more integrated approach where both parties engage in constructing a macroargument through mutual consideration of opposing views. The chapter categorizes various forms of counterarguments, including objections, rebuttals, and refutations, and explores their implications for logical evaluation. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing the interrelations between arguments and the necessity of weighing up competing reasons to reach a common conclusion.
