Telepresence robots (TPRs) enable immersive remote collaboration, but their lack of a remote-pointing tool limits precision in industrial settings. To address this issue, this paper introduces a pan-tilt laser pointer system integrated into a TPR’s web interface. Guided by workshops with industrial practitioners, two concepts were explored: a mini-video projector and a pan-tilt laser pointer. While the projector faced challenges with lighting and complexity, the laser pointer emerged as a cost-effective, intuitive solution. Evaluation in an industrial environment showed that the laser pointer enabled precise remote guidance, with participants finding the system user-friendly. This study highlights the pan-tilt laser pointer’s potential to enhance TPR interactivity and offers insights into its application in industrial, healthcare, and educational contexts.

摘要
