Post-operative Complications Following Bariatric Surgery
摘要
Bariatric surgery can provide considerable weight loss and improvement in comorbid conditions. However, surgery is not without associated complications. Post-operative complications related to bariatric surgery include nutritional deficits, biliary tract disease, early and late dumping syndrome, marginal ulcers, gastrointestinal leaks, gastro-gastro fistulas, internal hernias, and venous thromboembolism. A strong understanding of the possible complications related to bariatric surgery is essential to appropriately evaluate and treat your patients.
