Environmental degradation, its underlying causes and the resulting global environmental changes are the important points of discussion now- a- days. Green Business Practices (GBPs) are meant to reduce the environmental issues that business enterprises might create. The study attempts to develop and validate a scale for the measurement of barriers to the adoption of green business practices that are found missing in the existing literature. The validated model presents the five dimensions of Barriers to GBPs viz., ‘Lack of support from regulatory system and institutional drawbacks’, ‘Lack of stakeholder support’, ‘Knowledge and Communication barrier’, ‘Lack of finance and skilled labour’ and ‘Poor market response’.
