Although crowdfunding seems promising, trust is essential to this strategy. Founders must show good business plans or initiatives with high potential returns because funders are cautious. The founder and funder’s beneficial relationships and mutual interests are also crucial. Even though Malaysia offers several online crowdfunding platforms, including P2P and ECF, many small-scale contractors still prefer conventional loans from friends and family. The study’s conclusions provide funders who are considering crowdfunding as an investment option with insightful information that could support the community’s overall economic development.
