Seismic Effects of Industrial Explosions at a Granite Quarry in Belarus
摘要
This work is devoted to an instrumental assessment of the seismic impact of massive industrial explosions at the Mikashevichi granite quarry on the residential development area of the city of Mikashevichi. The aim of the work is to determine the magnitude and characteristics of the seismic effects in the near zone (1 km from the quarry side) of explosions in a granite quarry, based on instrumental seismological observations, in order to obtain reasonable initial data for research into the optimisation of blasting operations. Organizational and technical measures have been taken to integrate, calibrate, install, and configure equipment to carry out a cycle of seismological observations with recording of ground displacement rates due to seismic influences. Seismic monitoring of blasting in a granite quarry was carried out continuously for 7 months. Special software was used to process seismological observation records and to calculate the seismic effect parameters of massive industrial explosions in a granite quarry, based on instrumental seismological observations: SeisComP 5.1.1, MicroNoise, Matlab, Origin, etc. The maximum amplitude level and frequency composition of the seismic signals from the blocks to be undermined have been determined, and their characteristics have been identified to be taken into account when selecting the optimum parameters for drilling and blasting operations.
