The diagnosis of Eagle syndrome (ES) often relies on radiological imaging. While X-ray radiography has historically been used, computed tomography (CT) has emerged as the gold standard. This review analyzes the literature on radiological imaging in Eagle syndrome. It discusses the limitations of X-ray techniques and the advantages of CT scans. CT provides superior visualization of the styloid process, allowing for accurate measurement of its length and angulation, as well as its relationship with surrounding structures. The review also highlights the importance of considering various anatomical parameters, such as the distance between the styloid process and the tonsillar fossa and the angulation of the process, in diagnosing Eagle syndrome. These factors, in combination with the patient’s clinical presentation, can aid in determining the severity of the condition and guiding treatment options.
