Automated monitoring systems offer considerable potential for increasing resource efficiency and preventing health risks in the workplace. In laboratory environments, in particular, sophisticated sensor technology and artificial intelligence (AI) can help optimize the consumption of energy, water, and chemicals, while continuously monitoring safety-relevant parameters. This study examines the perception and acceptance of automated monitoring systems in university laboratories using qualitative analysis. The results show that challenges are perceived in terms of data protection, and ethical issues, especially when collecting data. The acceptance of the technology depends heavily on employee involvement and the perceived benefits of the technology.

摘要
