Mastopexy with Implant on Patients After Severe Weight Loss
摘要
The World Health Organization (Castro et al. Factsheet – sustainable development goals: health targets: nutrition, overweight and obesity. Copenhagen; 2021) characterizes obesity as a global public health problem because of modern society demands that are associated with bad lifestyle habits. At the same time, the therapeutic arsenal has grown widely, including metabolic endocrine surgeries and major weight loss (Hubbard and Hall, Obes Surg 1:257–265, 1991) and its alterations. In this context, plastic surgeons receive a great demand of complaints related to breast contour including harmonization and correction (Okada et al. Rev Bras Cir Plást 27(2):283–289, 2012; Pessoa et al. Rev Bras Cir Plást 34:65–66, 2019; Kaluf et al. Rev Bras Cir Plást 28:544–548, 2023). To correct and harmonize the breast contour, there is an extensive range of procedures because patients’ requirements level is increasing (Kaluf et al. Rev Bras Cir Plást 28:544–548, 2023; Daher et al. Rev Bras Cir Plást 27(2):294–300, 2012; Montandon, Rev Bras Cir Plást 29:352–360, 2014). Given this situation, the author shows a systematized and consolidated technique for patients with this profile. The plastic surgeon needs to master the surgical technique as well as know how to indicate the best procedure to stay aligned with the patient’s expectation.
