Indications for five breast reduction techniques in 932 breast surgeries are presented according to the characteristics of the breasts of each woman. The Arie-Pitanguy and Ribeiro I pedicle techniques are described for small and medium reductions in women with breasts up to 400 g and with good skin quality. Then the superior pedicle technique described by Pitanguy for breasts with ptosis of up to 6 cm is described. Finally, the lower pedicle technique for large breasts and ptosis of more than 6 cm is explained. Results with these techniques are presented, most of them with more than 5 years of postoperative control.
