The connection between the eruptions of the GolubitskiyMud Volcano Golubitskiy mud volcano and the impulses of earthquakes is considered as a closely related example of the phenomena that occurred during the Crimean earthquakes of 1927. The scale of the latter is not commensurate with the eruptions of the mud volcano Golubitskiy, but the tectonic influences are quite clear, and Golubitskiy gives an idea of the nature of such explosions of mud volcanoes in the sea. However, all gas explosions during the Crimean earthquakes of 1927 were accompanied by fiery phenomena, while the emissions of the Golubitskiy mud volcano as well as other nearby off-shore and on-shore mud volcanoes, as a rule, have not been accompanied by gas ignition. A physical explanation for their absence may be the high content of fluids involved in mud volcanism in shallow water.
