Research on Spatial Digital Feedback of Smart Community for Elderly Living Alone Based on SOR Model

As the aging population grows and birth rates decline, the number of elderly people living alone is increasing. With the rapid development of digital technologies, digitization has gradually become a part of elderly people's daily lives. However, the needs of elderly individuals living alone are often overlooked. They face insufficient intergenerational support and various barriers to using the internet, making it challenging for them to engage in smart community activities. Studies have shown that "digital feedback" is an effective way to help older adults bridge the digital divide. This study is based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model and combines the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to build a structural equation model. The results show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived behavioral control, subjective norms, and facilitating conditions significantly influence the intention of elderly individuals living alone to participate in activities in smart community spaces. Additionally, perceived ease of use is affected by perceived behavioral control and subjective norms, while facilitating conditions have a significant impact on perceived behavioral control. This study further expands the applicability of the SOR theory in understanding the behaviors of elderly users. The findings aim to empower community information platforms, build digital homes, create intelligent community spaces, and enhance aging services. By integrating virtual and physical environments, we seek to optimize smart community systems for aging populations, ensuring better alignment with the living needs of elderly individuals living alone.
