Leadership Ethics, Integrity, Leadership Virtues, and Police Leadership
摘要
This chapter delves into the ethical foundations of leadership, with a focus on integrity, virtue ethics, and leadership ethics as essential components of effective police leadership. Ethics is presented as a cornerstone of trustworthy and legitimate leadership, with strong emphasis on moral awareness and moral intelligence. The chapter explores the alignment between personal and organizational values, ethical decision-making, and police integrity. It introduces virtue ethics as a framework for cultivating moral character and judgment. Central to the chapter is Plato’s leadership model, outlining seven metaphorical leader types that illustrate diverse approaches to ethical leadership. This model provides inspiration and reflection for value-based leadership in policing.
