Penile implants are one of the most used alternatives in patients with severe erectile dysfunction. It is possible that many candidates for penile implants have surgery as the only successful treatment option due to their degree of erectile dysfunction. Furthermore, many of these patients have underlying pathologies such as cancer or diabetes mellitus. Many of the patients have limited knowledge about the functionality and benefits of this treatment and previous studies show a high satisfaction rate with the treatment results. The above has several aspects that can alter the results, such as the influence of the surgeons themselves, institutions, manufacturers, or payers, who can manipulate the rating of the surveys. Additionally, the incomplete evaluation of the questionnaires previously used and the lack of validation of the same can influence the interpretation of the conclusions. Therefore, it is important to have more alternatives to evaluate the satisfaction of patients undergoing penile implant surgery and the partner’s satisfaction.
