Two sequential studies were conducted. In brief, a longitudinal content analysis of corporate annual reports assessed the vulnerability of the daily newspaper industry to attacks from hedge funds, leading to in-depth interviews of news managers on impact of hedge fund ownership on daily newspaper organizations.
