Imaginative Geographies
摘要
Although all geographic theory and practice involves the imagination, the imaginary worlds of fiction provide a productive space for imaginative geographies. This may include utterly fantastic places, such an otherworldly zones or invented lands, but it also includes the real-and-imagined places that can be encountered in our everyday lives, along with variations along the spectrum between the poles of reality and fantasy. Imaginative geographies thus help to enlarge our understanding of the so-called real world while also empowering us to imagine alterative spaces.
