By analyzing geographical boundaries and traveler behavior, we can identify early patterns, such as the growing popularity of certain destinations or the appearance of new pilgrimage routes around the world. Tourism has become one of the rapidly developing economic sectors in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Religious tourism is becoming an important income. The money spent by tourists increases the local entrepreneurship, and also motivate local governments and residents to accelerate economic activity. The collected data shows that the development of tourism in this region depends more on external factors (migration policy, public relations) than on internal factors (tourist resources or facilities), Bukhara and Khorezm (South-central region of Uzbekistan), Mary and Dashoguz (North-central region of Turkmenistan) have a promising future for pilgrimage tourism.
