Development of Logistics in a Closed-Loop Economy

The contribution presents and explains the key directions for the development of logistics in the circular economy. It is shown that one of the main areas of logistics development in the circular economy is the integration of forward (production and distribution of new goods) and reverse (collection and processing of used goods) logistics chains. The author considers the issue of integrating reverse logistics into the circular economy as a key element of sustainable industrial development. The main barriers preventing the effective implementation of reverse logistics processes are analyzed, including high initial costs, difficulties in organizing return flows, issues related to the quality of secondary materials, and resistance from supply chain participants. A mathematical model for assessing the economic efficiency of reverse logistics integration is proposed, taking into account costs, benefits from resource reuse, and the impact of government incentives. Successful examples of reverse logistics implementation are reviewed. The findings of this study can be used by enterprises to develop effective business models in the transition to a circular economy.
