The transport and logistics sector is a key one to the development of the country’s economy and improving the quality of life of the population. It contributes to the development of many other sectors such as industrial production, construction, energy and tourism. The work is aimed at analysis of problems of innovative development of transport and logistics infrastructure in the Samara region. The factors are identified that contribute to its successful development. The authors also analyze threats that may hinder the implementation of the intended goals, assess the region’s export-import relations, determine the coefficient of elasticity of transport in the region, and consider the main areas of investment development. Of scientific interest is the calculation of the coefficient of elasticity of transport, which helps to assess the existing potential of the transport and logistics industry of the considered region, on the basis of which the paths of its further development are outlined, and the significance of creating the federal transport and logistics hub «Samara» is determined which is an important segment of the international transport route «Europe-Western China».
