The authors consider the impact of innovations and investments on the sustainable development of the territory of Russia, taking into account the influence of global trends. The substantiation of close recursive links between the costs of innovations, investments, and environmental activities in order to ensure sustainable development of regions is carried out. In the course of the study, a graphical diagram of the infrastructure of innovation and investment support for the development of the territory was developed indicating the assessment indicators reflecting significant processes for the sustainability of regions. A retrospective analysis of the resulting indicators for the modules of infrastructure support for sustainable development of the territory was carried out. General trends in ensuring the goals of sustainable development of the territory are determined. The work presents the main problems of achieving the goals of sustainable development (SDGs) and proposes investment directions by areas of activity to ensure environmental balance and environmental safety. The authors point to ensuring the unity and balance of social, economic and environmental aspects of sustainable development and conditions for the implementation of effective institutional changes.
