Economic Sovereignty in Conditions of Fragmentation and Risk Management of World Economy

In the context of large-scale sanctions imposed on Russia by the collective West, the issue of strengthening the economic sovereignty becomes the most pressing. The purpose of this work is to determine to what extent the achievement of economic sovereignty is self-sufficient for each country. The contribution is the first to propose a criterion for delimiting the degree of sovereignty based on the percentage of import volumes and, accordingly, the classification of countries into three groups: the most complete sovereignty, the average sovereignty and the minimal sovereignty. The author presents various approaches of foreign and Russian researchers to revealing the content of economic sovereignty. The author’s definitions of economic sovereignty are given. For the first time, a multidimensional approach to the content of economic sovereignty has been proposed. The research object is to answer the question: to what extent the economic sovereignty is possible and necessary to ensure self-sufficiency of the national economy, relative independence from attempts to dominate the countries of the Western coalition in the international business.
