Proximal Intra-and Extra-Plexal Nerve Transfers
摘要
Significant work has gone into the management of traumatic brachial plexus injuries, including a variety of different nerve transfers. This chapter contains a broad overview of the various nerve transfer techniques described in the literature. The nerve transfer approaches are organized based on whether they involve intra-or extra-plexal transfers, what restorative function is being targeted, and what the donor and recipient nerves are. Further detail regarding each specific nerve transfer technique will be described in separate chapters. Lastly, the senior author of this chapter outlines his preferred approach to brachial plexus injuries.
