Electrodiagnostic evaluation, through different techniques, is a complementary and powerful tool that plays an important role in the planning and execution of surgical procedures over the brachial plexus, regardless of the pathology affecting this complicated anatomical structure. Intraoperatively, some techniques that are part of the preoperative electrodiagnostic studies have been adapted and integrated as multimodal intraoperative monitoring to enhance in real-time assessment of distinct parameters. These evaluate the functional status of the brachial plexus during surgery, to distinguish injured from viable elements for reconstruction in traumatic injuries, protection of functional neural elements in tumors resection or decompressive surgery, and postsurgical control evaluation after manipulation.

摘要
