In recent years, there has been an increasing trend of tourists supporting the environmentally friendly accommodations—commonly referred to as “green hotels”, both in Greece and around the world. The main objectives of this research are to explores tourists’ preferences and willingness to support green hotels in Greece. The research was conducted by administered to 340 hotel guests across the country in Greece in 2019. The results demonstrated that there is a significant portion of foreign tourists who express their initial willingness to choose a green Greek hotel for their holidays based on certified “green” practices. Τhese tourists are willing to pay, on average, 7% more for accommodations for their stay there, compared to a conventional one.
