This chapter explores Nevada’s eroding Democratic support in presidential elections since Barack Obama’s 12-point victory in 2008 and what 2024 engenders for future competition for the state’s six electoral votes. The chapter provides an overview of Nevada’s political geography and recent political history, evaluates Trump and Harris’s messaging and resource allocations, and explains how economic dissatisfaction helped propel Trump to victory.
