Artificial Intelligence as a Catalyst for Sustainable Quality Education: The Case of Oman
摘要
This study intends to investigate in what way artificial intelligence (AI) solutions impact the sustainability of quality education from the perspectives of university faculty at a higher education institution in the Northeastern part of the Sultanate of Oman. The study is based on the assumption that artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions enhance the sustainability of quality education. The interpretivism philosophy serves as the foundation for the study design. A qualitative case study approach involving interviews administered to 8 male and female university faculty members was used for data collection. The interview includes 12 questions highlighting viable quotes that validate qualitative results. Thematic analysis is used to identify the frequency occurrence of words and phrases that reflect the way in which artificial intelligence (AI) solutions impact the sustainability of quality education from the perspectives of university faculty. The findings suggest that artificial intelligence (AI) solutions impact the sustainability of quality education. However, the sample is taken from one case study in a limited geographical area in Oman, the study opens a new horizon of research to validate the results in similar locations. The study provides insights via participants voiced their opinions on in what way artificial intelligence (AI) solutions impact the sustainability of quality education in Oman. It highlights the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in the sustainability of quality education in Omani HEIs. The insights gained from this study are helpful for HEI policymakers in Oman.
