Sustainable Innovation in AI-Driven Education in Higher Education Institutions in Oman
摘要
This research investigates the effect of sustainable innovation and AI integration on educational outcomes in HEIs in Oman. In line with Oman’s Vision 2040 and SDG 4 & 9, this research seeks to build a model that ensures education excellence, inclusion, and operational efficiencies. Using the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) Theory and Diffusion of Innovation (DoI) Theory as theoretical bases, the research addresses how economic, social, and environmental sustainability factors interact with technological adoption in culturally based institutions. In qualitative stakeholder interviews, major themes emerged, such as financial constraints, cultural fit, moral questions, and cost-effectiveness. These results reveal that a successful AI adoption must balance affordability, cultural fit, and social accountability to achieve the greatest possible educational impact. Those recommendations include government advocacy, public–private collaborations, building culturally appropriate AI, and ensuring data governance. The framework provides an innovative roadmap for Omani HEIs to improve student outcomes by fostering sustainable, ethical innovation and AI integration.
