Exploring Stakeholder Perceptions of Combining Total Quality Management and Lean Management for Achieving Sustainable Organizational Excellence: The Case of Oman
摘要
The study aims to explore—from the perspective of stakeholders—organizational excellence models that have the potential to achieve sustainable organizational excellence in the field of nutrition consultancy. The study is based on the assumption that stakeholders have a positive attitude toward the adoption of combined organizational excellence models in the nutrition consultancy context. Methodology A pragmatic philosophy underpins the research design. A mixed methods case study approach involving surveys administered to 70 male and female stakeholders was used for data collection. The study includes four open-ended questions aiming at underscoring viable quotes that validate quantitative results. Descriptive statistics is used for data analysis of the quantitative component; thematic analysis is used to identify the patterns that cut across the participants. Results The findings suggest that stakeholders positively perceived combining multiple organizational excellence models such as Total Quality Management (TQM) and Lean Management to enhance organizational excellence. The results also reveal the importance of addressing areas such as personalized, evidence-based practice, active stakeholder engagement, and integration of digital services to meet customer expectations and enhance satisfaction. This study extends our understanding of stakeholder perceptions and highlights the prospect of adopting combined models that fit the organization’s profile. Significance The study presents a comprehensive understanding of stakeholders’ perspectives. It shows a positive trend toward organizational excellence models in the nutrition setting where hybrid models can be supplemented to incorporate contemporary and traditional practices, along with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IoT), and blockchain, to achieve sustainable excellence.
