摘要
The psychiatric care of patients with eating disorders is limited by the fact that there are no medications that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of pediatric eating disorders. There are a limited number of medications with an FDA indication to treat adults with bulimia nervosa [1] and binge eating disorder [2]. Despite the lack of an FDA indication, psychiatric providers working with eating disorders can and do use psychotropic medications off label to target symptoms that are impacting the ability to take in adequate nutrition.
