Green Technologies for Water Management
摘要
As water scarcity increases, the need for sustainable solutions adds to this idea that green technologies could be a fix, and this is particularly true in the case of water management technologies. With water resources increasingly threatened by urbanisation and climate change, new sustainable principles need to be established to restore a balance between sufficient water for human usage and the health of the ecosystems that have become critical to water delivery. Green technology in this chapter is defined by smart metering, rainwater harvesting and irrigation systems that save water. By demonstrating how these technologies are being taken up by urban water supply systems, the chapter acknowledges that they can improve water efficiency, lessen environmental impacts, and bolster the resilience of water systems. Simply put, it demands a shift to green technology as an essential component of water sustainability in an era defined by evolving environmental threats.
