Toddler Sleep
摘要
Toddler sleep is fundamental for a healthy development as it supports physical growth, cognitive function, emotional regulation, and a strong immune system. Toddlers should sleep 11–14 hours in 24 hours, including naps. A consistent sleep routine helps toddlers thrive and reach their full potential. Sleeping difficulties can be seen at this age with behavioral insomnia as the most common sleep disorder. Toddlers with insufficient or inadequate sleep may exhibit hyperactivity, problems with concentration, academic problems, or fatigue during daytime. Obtaining a sleep history is important to identify the need for further workup as a sleep log, actigraphy, ferritin levels, and/or a polysomnography.
