Mechanical Properties of Steel Strip Reinforced Composite Pipes Under Complex Loads

Steel strip wound reinforced composite pipe (SSRCP) is a robust pipeline solution that ingeniously blends the advantages of composite materials with the strength of steel, utilizing helically wound steel strips to bolster its rigidity (Shuai in Ultimate capacity study for unbonded flexible pipes under pressures. This design not only imparts exceptional strength and durability, enabling the pipeline to withstand substantial pressures and stresses, but also ensures it remains lightweight and resistant to corrosion, which is crucial in harsh environments. The pipeline’s special features extend to its remarkable flexibility and longevity, significantly reducing transportation and installation costs, and necessitating fewer replacements or repairs over time. Particularly in submarine applications, SSRCP excels due to its ability to resist the corrosive effects of saltwater, withstand the immense pressures found at great ocean depths, and maintain flexibility for installation across the varied and challenging ocean floor terrain. These attributes collectively make SSRCP a reliable, durable, and economically efficient solution for underwater infrastructure, demonstrating the material’s innovative application in advancing submarine pipeline technology.
