Tannery solid waste disposal from the leather industry greatly threatens many developing nations due to the increase in output wastes. One of the major concerns of solid waste management is the proper utilization of industrial wastes, which imposed a financial burden with high expenses, creating a significant negative health and socioeconomic impact. Therefore, the conversion of tannery solid wastes to high value-added usage in the leather industry has sparked widespread interest in a great solution for solid waste management, which is still facing a proper lack of understanding of solid trash management. Herein, this study looked into details approaches to rationalize different hazardous chemicals and substances used during tanning processes and their suitable solution after discharging and the proper utilization of waste discharge. To do this review, different literature was sourced, a different source of waste was identified and then the information is analyzed in detail. Based on that, this article review gives a summary of tannery solid waste and their management strategies in the various leather manufacturing process as well as their negative and potential beneficial implications of solid waste through the application of best practices.
