This study examines the influence of international conventions, such as the Ramsar Convention, on national policies for wetland protection. It investigates how different countries integrate international guidelines into their domestic legal frameworks and the challenges they face in doing so. The study highlights the successes and shortcomings of these conventions in promoting sustainable wetland management. By analyzing case studies from various countries, the research assesses the effectiveness of international agreements in shaping and enhancing national legal frameworks. Key findings suggest that while international conventions provide a strong foundation, their impact is often limited by inadequate implementation at the national level. It concludes with recommendations for improving global wetland conservation efforts, emphasizing the need for tailored approaches that consider the unique socio-economic and environmental contexts of each country. The research calls for stronger enforcement mechanisms and increased international cooperation to ensure the effective protection of wetlands globally.
