Epistemic Tribes and Territories in the Sociology of the Future
摘要
After establishing that there indeed exists a body of sociological literature concerned with futures thinking, this chapter presents and discusses the results of the two scientometric procedures used in this book to describe the attention space of the sociology of the future. Like Chap. 5 did for futures studies, co-citation analysis is used to describe the epistemic tribes that characterize the attention space of the sociology of the future, while co-occurrence analysis is used to describe the research topics, and thus, the epistemic territories claimed by these tribes. In the conclusion, the findings for the two bodies of literature are compared.
