Working Safely and Sustainably: Going Forward
摘要
Burke summarizes the global challenges of unsafe work and the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) strategy on occupational safety and health aimed at addressing such challenges. He adeptly points out how others can contribute to the ILO strategy through behavioral safety research in organizations and the broad dissemination of research findings. Importantly, he stresses that a research knowledge base has been amassed across disciplinary fields and globally that can immediately contribute to advancing work on achieving sustainable development. He concludes the book with a call for additional efforts to bridge the science and practice of workplace safety by translating multi-disciplinary research findings into research guidance and practice recommendations for those who can use them to do the most for the greater good.
