This substantial dependence of agriculture on water has led to various environmental problems including water scarcity, soil erosion, and water pollution. The present chapter reviews the environmental aspects of water management in agriculture by investigating the various strategies to use water. Sustainable water management in agriculture is crucial to food security and environmental protection. Numerous approaches for sustainable management of water in agriculture including water conservation, water efficiency, and water reuse have been focused. It is concluded with the future challenges and opportunities for sustainable water management in agriculture. These challenges include the increasing water demand for food production, the effects of climate change on water availability, and the need to protect water quality.
