Kinematics deals with how quantities change over time, e.g. the relationship between position and velocity. In the chapter after this we consider dynamics, i.e. how things are affected by forces and torques. We will notice that we have to be very pedantic about time derivatives. This chapter again follows Zipfel (2007) very closely.
