This chapter provides a comprehensive literature review on 3D and 4D scanning technologies as well as finite element analysis (FEA). It explains the terminology and data formats associated with 3D and 4D scanning technologies. As an example of how 4D scanning technology can be used in clothing development, the literature is further explored for applications in breast-bra interaction. For finite element analysis, fundamental modelling steps are outlined, and current research gaps in the study of breast-bra interaction are identified. The chapter concludes with a summary of key research gaps and potential advancements in 4D scanning technology and finite element analysis in the field of clothing development.
