The introductory chapter provides an overview of the necessity of developing new methods to improve close-fitting clothing. The structure of the research work is presented, which is divided into three parts. The first part includes a literature review on scanning technology, finite element analysis and their applications in the analysis of breast-bra interactions. The second part introduces methods for evaluating 4D scan data and applying them to breast-bra analysis. The third part presents methods for developing finite element models to digitally analyse clothing-body interactions.
