The family of the gifted child plays the most crucial role in their emotional, social, and cognitive development. During the 45 years between 1968, when the Erika Landau Institute was founded, and 2003, when this study was conducted, over 40,000 families from various backgrounds sent their children to the institute. Such a large number enabled us to study a sample of very many graduates of the institute: their family circumstances, such as their gender, their number of siblings, their birth order, the educational level of their parents, and the changes in their personal, educational, and professional changes over the years since their participation at the institute’s course. In this chapter, some of the findings from the answers to the questions asked in all these areas are analyzed, and some conclusions are summarized.

摘要
