In this chapter we discuss pleural effusion, transudate, and pleuritis. A major focus is on pleura tumors with malignant mesothelioma the most important one. There will be information on diagnosis, the aid of immunohistochemistry, and also aspects of genetic abnormalities. Other primary tumors of the pleura follow, and finally a short comment on metastasis to the pleura is added.
