Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is a highly contagious cutaneous viral infection commonly seen in children and characterized by the onset of small, pink to skin-colored, dome-shaped papules, with central umbilication. Dermatoscopy shows a typical pattern consisting of central yellowish-white, roundish amorphous structures (or “pores, corresponding to the clinical umbilication), surrounded by a crown of linear, fine, and sometimes blurred vessels which do not cross the center of the lesion. The “pores” may show different sizes and may be single or multiple, often configuring a polylobular structure; rarely, they may be absent.
