Juvenile xanthogranuloma (JXG) is a common benign non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis typical of the pediatric population. Clinically, it is characterized by a yellow, orange, red, or brown papule or nodule of various sizes which may be single or multiple. The typical dermatoscopic finding of JXG is a diffuse, homogeneous orange-yellowish hue surrounded by a slight erythema, which has been described as the “setting sun” pattern. Linear and branched vessels may also be detected. Additional features include “clouds” of paler yellow globules, subtle pigment network, and whitish streak.
