Psoriasis is a common chronic, inflammatory, erythematous-desquamative skin disorder with a relapsing–remitting course that can involve any body area. Plaque psoriasis is characterized by well-demarcated erythematous plaques topped by white scales. Clinical variants frequently observed in children are inverse psoriasis, localized in flexural areas with a symmetrical distribution, in which scaling is minimal or absent, and guttate psoriasis, characterized by abrupt onset of small, roundish diffuse lesions, preferentially located on the trunk and extremities, classically triggered by streptococcal infection. The typical dermatoscopic features of psoriasis consist of whitish scales and red dots. The last correspond at high magnifications (> ×100) to dilated, elongated, and convoluted capillaries with a typical glomerular or “bushy” aspect.
