Environmental pollution is concerning for both biotic and abiotic components on Earth. Due to the rapid growth of industries, lifestyle changes in humans, migration toward cities and improper waste disposal methods, the Earth poses a significant threat. There is a crucial need to address these issues and develop technologies for proper waste management and reduce environmental pollution. Sonochemistry is one of the green approaches and emerging fields that can effectively decontaminate the environment. Due to its versatility, the field finds its application in various areas of wastewater treatment, water purification, soil and sludge treatment. The chapter discusses the use of ultrasound in the above applications.
