This chapter further analyses John Clarke’s tenure as manager until his resignation in 2010. It then traces John Osborne’s term as the fifth manager until 2017 and subsequently details Cathal Beale’s role as the sixth manager to the present day. Several controversial incidents occurred during this period involving John Clarke. The author navigates governance issues, allegations of bullying, and expense-related problems. Again, quantitative data is used to illustrate the extreme nature of the expense issues. A conflict of interest involving members of the board of directors at the Stud presents another challenge, as most of the senior staff were engaged in the syndication of the Stud’s leading stallion, Invincible Spirit. Hence, the author analyses whether these conflicts of Interest are appropriate, considering that the National Stud is a state-sponsored institution. The author made a Freedom of Information request to the National Stud for information on the stallion syndicates at the Stud, but only limited information was forthcoming. The chapter highlights John Osborne's impact on restoring confidence in the Stud following these controversies. It assesses the significant effect that the current manager, Cathal Beale, has had on revitalising tourism and educational courses to reduce reliance on stallion fee income at the Stud.
