The British National Stud and Irish National Stud: A Comparison
摘要
The author uses a comparative study of the Irish National Stud and the British National Stud to provide details of the relationship between these institutions and their respective government sponsors. This approach highlights the striking similarities in their operations and its numerous challenges, such as management issues, policymaking, conflicts of interest related to stallions, and the substantial influence of private sector breeders on these institutions. Both institutions operate similar educational facilities but differ in the tourism aspect of their business model and how they receive financial support from the State, which is examined in greater detail.
