Natural Gas
摘要
This chapter breaks down the three primary types of natural gas—liquefied (LNG), compressed (CNG), and synthetic (SNG)—into a succinct analysis of production, storage, and transportation. Natural gas is still a crucial transition fuel. While CNG concentrates on high-pressure compression, lightweight cylinders, and modular logistics for regional supply, LNG coverage emphasizes developments in cryogenic liquefaction, large-tank containment, and international transportation. The SNG section examines carbon-neutral potential, grid-injection standards, and renewable methanation pathways. Throughout, methane-slip mitigation and new alternatives like floating LNG and adsorbed natural gas are taken into consideration while energy density, lifecycle emissions, and cost factors are benchmarked. The chapter gives readers a concise overview of natural gas transporters and how they contribute to a smooth energy transition.
